he DC Chapter of the Association for Preservation Technology is proud to be hosting the 2021 Conference, Preservation Beyond Politics (APTDC2021). APTI has opened up the call for papers and are looking for abstracts related to the following three topics:
- Revisiting Renewal: Evolving Past Transformations
- Pivoting Preservation: Forward-Thinking Solutions to Changing Requirements
- By the People, For the People: Civic Architecture, Public Spaces, and Infrastructure
Highest consideration will be given to abstracts that:
•Present compelling ideas, insights, principles,and lessons applicable to other projects.
•Are relevant to the conference theme and contribute to a conference track.
•Present new technology (or new applications of existing technology), analyses or ideas.
•Be currently and technically acceptable in practice, method, and theory.
•Offer stimulating thought or encourage dialogue and debate.
•Contain original research.
•Make a significant contribution to the body of knowledge in heritage preservation.
