Registration for the 2019 symposium The Preservationist’s Toolkit: Exploring Diverse Approaches to Historic Preservation is now open! The symposium will be held at the will be held in at the Fred W. Smith National Library for Study of George Washington, Mount Vernon, VA on September 20, 2019.

The Symposium will address ways in which preservationists have utilized and/or adapted diverse technologies and practices from allied fields for the benefit of preserving our built heritage and advancing approaches to historic preservation. We are excited the day will offer a range of presentations, demonstrations, and student posters from preservationists across our chapter region and nation. The symposium sessions will be broken into the following themes:

  • Engaging Diverse Technologies
  • Expanding our Senses
  • Partnerships & Practice
  • Case Studies in Construction

Full day agenda is now available. 

Registration for this event is free but is open to APT DC members only. If you are not a member, we encourage you to become one! This allows you to attend the symposium and other great APT DC events for the next year. To become a member please visit our membership page. Breakfast, lunch, and reception refreshments will be included. 6 continuing education credits will also be available for $25. Please make the continuing education selection when you register.
